“A wilderness, in contrast with those areas where man and his own works dominate the landscape, is hereby recognized as an area where the earth and community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.”--The Wilderness Act of 1964

Mission Statement

The primary goal of NJ Wild is to encourage all New Jersey Congressmen and Senators to support wilderness across the country.  Federal lands are under the stewardship of all Americans and many of these specials places, such as Utah's Red Rock Country, the coastal plain of Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and the Northern Rockies Ecosystem, should be preserved as wilderness in perpetuity.

Who Are We

We are a group of New Jersey residents who understand the importance of protection our federal lands, which are under threat from oil and gas exploration and damage by ATV mis-use.  We are affiliated with other environmental groups such as the Sierra Club, Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, Alaska Wilderness League, but our focus is to get our legislators here in New Jersey to support wilderness designations and other public land protections across the nation.
